Lucent1 gives vendors a channel that runs as software, so the margin you design for your resellers is the margin they receive.
Your program, delivered as written.
The three questions you arrived with
Three questions decide whether this is a route worth adding. They are answered here rather than held back for a first meeting.
“How do you make money at 1%, and are you sustainable?”
Volume. The platform runs as software rather than as staffed service. We have no quote desk, no account management layer and no manual support function to fund, so the cost of processing a transaction is a fraction of what a staffed model costs to run.
Revenue also comes from platform subscriptions on both sides, which means transaction margin is not carrying the business alone.
“Does this undercut my existing distribution or my direct motion?”
Lucent1 is a distribution route, not a replacement for your channel strategy. You decide which products list, at what pricing, for which IT resellers.
Deal registration is submitted to you by API, under the IT reseller’s name, into your own approval queue. Lucent1 does not sell direct to end customers, so there is no Lucent1 motion competing with your direct team or with your IT resellers.
If you have exclusivity commitments elsewhere, those are yours to manage. We will not ask you to breach them, and we would rather you told us early than late.
“What does integration actually cost me in engineering time?”
Price book onboarding, not a development project. Pricing can be supplied by file upload, drag and drop, or API, in the formats you already produce.
Your pricing and volume model is built individually to match how you already work, so your program is not remapped to fit ours. Currency conversion, price validation and ongoing price updates are handled on the platform. Vendor onboarding completes in under 24 hours.
Deeper API integration takes longer than a price book upload, and we will scope it with you honestly rather than quoting a number to win the meeting.
Two years ago this was not possible
Enterprise AI infrastructure has matured to the point where distribution can be built as software rather than as human-serviced workflow. Agent frameworks, real-time orchestration and production-grade AI tooling are now capable of running commercial processes end to end, not just assisting them.
It is now possible, which means someone will build it. The question is not whether software-era distribution arrives, but who builds it and how it is designed.
The constraint is data. AI trained on decades of accumulated legacy records produces unreliable output, and that data has to be rebuilt before development can begin. Building clean from day one is not a head start, it is a different starting position.
Channel reach without channel operations
Serving IT resellers well takes a deal desk, a portal, regional contracting and support. Lucent1 is that infrastructure, already built, so your channel motion does not scale by adding headcount.
Automated workflow
Quoting, deal registration, subscription activation, invoicing and renewals run as automated workflow, not as staffed process.
Onboarding
Vendor onboarding in under 24 hours, with your pricing and volume model built individually to match how you already work.
Approval stays yours
Deal registration passes directly to you by API, into your own approval queue.
The long tail
Small deals stop consuming rep time, because the long tail transacts without a person in the path.
Your channel, on it
A vendor who lists can run a joint motion to their existing IT reseller book, so their IT resellers arrive with them rather than having to be found.
Configure it once. The platform does the rest.
The margin you design is the margin they get
You build IT reseller programs at 15 to 30% because that is what it takes for an IT reseller to invest in your product. A flat 1% means what you designed is what lands, and IT resellers who keep their margin sell more of what you make.
One rate
A flat 1% on every transaction. No tiers, no volume thresholds, no margin stacking.
Visible to you
Every transaction shows your base cost, the Lucent1 1%, and the IT reseller total.
Margin pressure
Moxie Insights found revenue growing across the Australian channel while profit is not following it.
Speed to the client
Quotes in under 5 seconds, so your product reaches the end client while the deal is still live.
Vendors design the margin. We publish what we take.
Growth inside the subscriptions you already have
Growth inside a subscription that already exists waits on an IT reseller who can act without friction. Lucent1 removes the friction and shows you what is happening while it happens.
Committed revenue
Subscriptions run on monthly, 12, 36 and 60 month terms, so committed revenue is visible rather than inferred.
Expansion
IT resellers add licences and additional products to live subscriptions directly, so expansion happens at the moment the customer asks rather than at the next renewal.
Retention
Co-terming consolidates a customer’s renewal dates, so renewal becomes one decision instead of several.
Visibility
Real-time IT reseller performance and product movement, renewal pipeline forecasting with churn risk identified 60 to 90 days ahead, and product performance data to inform portfolio decisions.
Expansion revenue, without an expansion motion.
What it costs you
Nothing is deducted from what you charge. The 1% is added to your base cost and paid by the IT reseller, and all three figures appear on the transaction, so you can see exactly what your IT resellers pay.
Your IT reseller sees all three numbers. That is how they confirm the margin you designed is the margin they received.
| Your base cost | $1,000.00 |
|---|---|
| Lucent1 1% | $10.00 |
| Your IT reseller pays | $1,010.00 |
- Your base cost
- The price you set for that IT reseller, under your own pricing and volume model, built individually to match how you already work.
- Lucent1 1%
- Added, not deducted. The same rate on every transaction regardless of size or volume, and it does not change as volume grows.
- Your IT reseller pays
- Those two figures, added, and visible to them as three separate lines.
- The platform subscription
- Lucent1 also charges a platform subscription, separately from the 1% and on both sides. It is not deducted from your base cost either. The price is not set yet, and it will be set before the platform opens to transactions in Australia. Pricing sets out both charges in full.
Where we are
These are the limits as they stand today.
Launch stage
Lucent1 is pre-launch. We are launching in Australia, and the platform is built so that every region we enter runs on the same model.
The IT reseller network
Being built, and we will not claim a count we do not have.
Vendors
We are signing them one at a time, and we will tell you exactly which ones are on the platform rather than implying more.
What we ask of you
A route you add, not a route you replace. Start with a segment, or a region where your channel presence is thin. No exclusivity, no volume commitment, and onboarding takes under 24 hours.
Configure your channel economics once. We execute them.
Tell us what you sell and where your channel is today. If Lucent1 is not the right route for you yet, we will say so.
